A splendid large French Art Nouveau handmade enamel brooch of a rose, two daisies, and two cornflowers on a glowing yellow background within a beautiful sterling silver setting. It was created and signed by the master Art Nouveau Limoges enamellist Thoumieux. The extraordinary three-dimensional image gives the impression of stained glass.
Trombone clasp.
For centuries of jewelry-making, roses have symbolised grace, love and sometimes passion. Daisies represent simplicity, positivity, and happiness. They are often associated with the following: innocence, purity, new beginnings, transformation, humility, true love, and cheerfulness. In France the game “Effeuiller La Marguerite” is the same as the English “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not”, in which the petals of a daisy represent a longing for true love. Cornflowers are symbols of love, fertility, hope, anticipation, patience, elegance, delicacy, and refinement.
